Maria Cahill is an associate professor in the School of Information Science and the Department of Educational Leadership Studies at the University of Kentucky. Cahill earned an MLIS at the University of South Carolina and a PhD in Literacy Education from the University of Tennessee. Her research focuses on the services and programming of libraries and the role of children’s and school librarians in supporting the literacy development of children and adolescents. Her teaching and research have been supported by the Institute for Museum and Library Services and the Texas Library Association.
