In this hands-on, interactive session, Mike will show you how to take advantage of Twitter, Facebook Groups, Facebook Live Video, Snapchat, Instagram, and Periscope to not only grow you learning network but to build relationships and nurture your teaching spirit. Social media is about more than just sharing resources, it's about real people connecting and learning together. Being able to have a safe place to create, invent, and learn is a treasure for students. I Will cover how, on little to no budget, I've created our middle school version of a makerspace. Will discuss how/where to find great info on makerspaces, and then how to take small steps to building your own makerspace in the media center for all students to have access to STEAM activities. Will discuss how I used Donors Choose to aid in funding specific items as well. Be ready to MAKE during the presentation.
