Come hang out and learn about the 10 great titles featured on this year's Kentucky Bluegrass Award Master List! Our session will feature ideas for incorporating the books into library/classroom instruction and for reaching the target audiences for these titles. We will also point you toward KBA resources created by other librarians, teachers and KASL to help promote Kentucky's student-choice book award program.

I'll be joined by 6-8 Master List committee members Sarah Nevitt (Stuart Pepper Middle School) and Holly Hart (Newport High School).

Creating STEAM in the Media Center #makerspace

Being able to have a safe place to create, invent, and learn is a treasure for students. I Will cover how, on little to no budget, I've created our middle school version of a makerspace. Will discuss how/where to find great info on makerspaces, and then how to take small steps to building your own makerspace in the media center for all students to have access to STEAM activities. Will discuss how I used Donors Choose to aid in funding specific items as well. Be ready to MAKE during the presentation.
